MORE ABOUT ELIZA
What inspired you to pursue writing? When I was little, I used to write poems for my family and friends, and my love for writing has grown from there! I studied creative writing at university, which only made me more certain of wanting to pursue a career in writing.

What do you love most about the work you do?
The fact that my writing can help excite children about the world around them and inspire them to be passionate about a particular subject. Whether that’s about nature or mammals or even outer space, it’s nice to know you’re helping children learn new, exciting things.

What was your first job? Was it related to the work that you do now?
My first job was working as a bookseller at Waterstones. I loved keeping up to date with new incoming titles, as well as helping all sorts of customers find their perfect book. It’s so exciting to see my own books on the shelves there now!
What’s your favourite thing to do in your free time, outside of work? Any hobbies or other interests?
I love to go on adventures around the Cornish coast, spending lots of my time eating tasty food and looking out to sea for whales! I also enjoy writing poetry, attending live music events, and spending time with friends.
Did you like reading as a child? If so, do you have a favourite children’s book?
I am a big bookworm now, and I was when I was little too! My favourite book as a child was ‘Lillibet, the Monster Vet’ by Jeanne Willis.
